Where Punta Maravilla is and how to get there
Punta Maravilla is located in the northeast of Ibiza, within the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja, one of the wildest and least urbanised areas of the island. Its location between cliffs and unspoilt coves means access is not obvious, but this is precisely why it preserves its natural charm.
By car
The most practical way to get there is by car. From Ibiza Town, the journey takes about 40 minutes. You must take the road towards Sant Carles de Peralta and continue along rural paths surrounded by pine trees and almond fields.
As you approach the coast, you will see improvised signs or references on digital maps indicating the turn-off towards Punta Maravilla. The final stretch is along a dirt road, and you must leave the car in a small designated area before continuing on foot.
On foot
From the parking area, the final access requires a short 10–15 minute walk along a path that runs through the forest. Although the walk is easy, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and avoid the central hours of the day in summer.
By boat
Another spectacular way to reach it is by sea. If you rent a private boat or take a boat excursion from the port of Santa Eulalia, you can approach the cove from the water and enjoy a swim in its crystal-clear waters without worrying about land access.
What to see in Punta Maravilla
Punta Maravilla is not a conventional beach but a small rocky inlet surrounded by pine-covered cliffs, with waters so clear you can see every stone on the seabed. It is a perfect spot for snorkelling lovers or simply for those who enjoy peace and nature in its purest form.
The colours of the sea vary between turquoise and deep blue depending on the time of day and the sunlight. As it is a little-frequented area, there are no beach bars or sunbeds — only the sound of the waves and cicadas.
From the small cliffs, you get panoramic views of the northeast of the island, especially at sunset when the sun paints the rocks and pine trees in golden tones. If you like photography, it is an ideal spot to capture the wildest and most natural Ibiza.
Very close by are other coves with more services, such as Cala Mastella and Cala Boix, which you can easily reach by car if you want to continue exploring the area.
If you want to enjoy snorkelling, we also recommend Cala Molí, as it is one of the best places on the island for it.
Why Punta Maravilla is worth visiting
Visiting Punta Maravilla means discovering a different side of Ibiza: the one that doesn’t appear on tourist maps or social media. It is an experience of connection with nature, where luxury is measured in silence, unspoilt landscapes and crystal-clear sea.
It is the perfect place for couples, solo travellers or small groups looking for a quiet spot away from the bustle of the most popular beaches. Its wild surroundings convey a peace that is hard to find elsewhere on the island.
After a swim or a walk, you can end the day with a meal in one of the northern restaurants, where you will enjoy the authentic Mediterranean flavour. Options such as Tigre Morado (in Cala Llonga) or the Oyster & Caviar Bar (in the eastern area) are ideal to close the day with a gastronomic experience by the sea.
